Am I bad person for choosing to breasfeed for (only) 6 months?

It's bs about the super high IQ and no illness with feeding. Sure feeding is good for your kids, is exactly what they need, gives your child lots of protection from illnesses, and comes in very attractive containers, but It's not necessary up to 3-4 years old. I'd recommend up to a year to give your child a really good start.
