Going to Miami for first time... any recommendations?

My husband and I will be going to Ft. Lauderdale and Miami next month with a group of friends. Any recommendations on good hot spots? Restaurants, bars, etc... We love the latin scene... any good latin clubs? Preferrably with live music...salsa/merengue/bias/reggaeton… dj is fine. I've been doing some research and have a few in mind but would like to get your opinions. Also...how's the weather over there this time of year? Thanks guys!
