Photoshop cs2 question!?

whenever i try to do something that includes color, like stroke a text blue, the color doesnt show up, it's just gray. And when i try to stoke it with a different color like pink, it doesnt work either. and so i cant make a gradient because the colors dont work and just turns out as a gray and black gradient. anyone know how to fix it or whatever? thank you ;]
