Ex-Jehovah's Witnesses: Were you ever abused by your JW parents?

I was a JW mom and just being a JW makes you abusive to your children. The times of the year that are set aside for holidays when families gather for celebration are grim for your family because you are separated from any family or worldly holiday parties or gatherings because you can't celebrate them. My kids had to sit the fun out in the office at school whenever there were any parties. I believe holidays of which the Jewish people have many ordained by GOD are times that cement family bonds, and GOD may well have instituted them for that very reason...being a JW has a crippling effect on families and the effect is lasting if you leave you will see how it kept you from making traditions in your family that draw you closer year after year its kind of hard to explain but I feel we missed out on soooo very many things by being in that cult and thats a form of abuse. I can tell you the members in my family have a hard time remembering birthdays, and celebrating them, and properly celebrating holidays instead of just ignoring them is something you have to re-learn...sad
