Has your baby had the chicken flavored gerber jar?

Last night my husband bought my son stage 1 jars (chicken, turkey, & meat) and we opened the chicken flavored and he kept gagging, spitting out and making funny faces. I smelled it and it seriously smelled like my dogs canned food. I then opened a pears flavored one and he ate the whole thing! He loved it... im just wondering if he was being picky or if anyone else's baby doesn't like that flavor, I really want him to have the meats over the fruits and now im worried he won't like the turkey and meat flavor either :( is it ok for him to only have veggies and fruits? He does love veggies as well.
